Alex Wan's Dream Orchestra
If you like classical music or jazz, this is the band for you. Even if you don't, it's worth a listen, since their songs also have hints of more contemporary fare. The listener never knows what quite what to expect, as the band goes from a smooth classical style ballad straight into a smoking hot jazz piece. Guitarist Alex Wan leads the orchestra, which includes a full strings section, woodwind, brass, reed, piano, and percussion. Based out of Randolph, Massachusetts, they play original compositions written by Alex Wan that showcase not only Wan's songwriting abilities, but the excellent musicianship of the orchestra members. Whether you want some easy listening background music or swing you can dance to, this is a band worth checking out. Amanda Penecale
Amanda Penecale is a folk singer based out of Warminster Pennsylvania. The title "folk" may be a little misleading, since her music contains hints of country, bluegrass, and even a little jazz. The use of multiple instruments in her songs, such as mandolin and a classical style violin set her apart from the multitude of folk singer songwriters that are often backed up only by an acoustic guitar, leading to a wholly unique, genre crossing sound. She sings her original songs in a crystal clear voice that lacks the shyness that is also often found in a lot of singer/songwriters. This is enjoyable music no matter what your preferred genre. The Perfect Victim
The Perfect Victim might also be the perfect alternative rock band. Well, nobody's perfect, but they definitely embody the ideal band, with high energy music that is a blend of catchy melodies, dynamite vocals, and powerful guitar. The quality productions of their songs turns out music that has a feel of professionalism, as well as independence from the watered down mainstream pop that is so common today. Anybody on the West Coast has a pretty decent chance of hearing them live, as they pack a full schedule of performances throughout California and the surrounding states. Carrie Cunningham and the Six Shooters
Carrie Cunningham and the Six Shooters are a Northwest band that remind you of what country music is supposed to be. Although Cunningham was originally trained in classical and jazz, her music is uncompromisingly country. A lot of the traditional sound is due to the liberal use of the steele guitar (played by Dale "Captain" Granstrom). Upbeat songs such as "Hunting Season" and "The Single Life" are evenly balanced with slower ballads, such as "Just Because." Carrie has received a great deal of local success, as well as international airplay, and keeps up a full schedule of performances. Definitely keep an eye on this band!

The Hundley Brothers Band
The Hundley Brothers Band is a duo based in Forest Grove, Oregon that combines country, bluegrass, and gospel music resulting in a distinct folksy sound. The members, Matt Hundley (guitar, piano, fiddle, and vocals) and Chas Hundley (mandolin, harmonica, and vocals) almost exclusively play originals, and use close harmonies and the occasional lightning fast guitar riff to deliver a signature sound that either has the audience singing along of stomping their feet to the beat. They have been shooting up on the Reverb Nation Country charts for Portland, Oregon, going from number 64 to 23 in just a couple of weeks. Expect to hear more from this band!
